Moving
Hearts reunited for live shows, live album and
DVD
The reformed and revitalized Moving Hearts release their new album and first
DVD ‘Live In Dublin’ on Rubyworks on October 26th.
Recorded at Dublin’s Vicar Street during The Hearts
sold out four – night stand in February 2007, ‘Live
In Dublin’ captures some of Ireland’s finest
instrumentalists at the very top of their collective
game. Percussionist Noel Eccles says: “There’s
unfinished business! When we last played it
was as an instrumental band and we always felt we hadn't
finished exploring the possibilities of our unique line-up".
Focusing on material from their classic, genre – defying
1985 album ‘The Storm’, the new recording
is a remarkable document; a testimony to fantastic musicians
playing music which is unmistakably Irish in origin,
but is immaculately imbued with jazz, world music and
rock ‘n’ roll references.
The audio release is in tandem with a separate DVD release,
which contains the whole concert and is directed by award
winning Irish film-maker Philip King; as well as a bonus
documentary on the history of Moving Hearts and exclusive
backstage footage.
Moving Hearts are one of a handful of truly legendary
and influential Irish bands. These new releases show
them to be a vibrant musical force for the twenty-first
century.
Moving Hearts: Donal Lunny (bouzouki), Davy
Spillane (Uileann pipes), Eoghan O'Neill (bass), Keith
Donald (saxophone), Matt Kellaghan (drums), Noel
Eccles (percussion), Anto Drennan (guitar)
and Graham Henderson (keyboards). Special
guest – Kevin Glackin (fiddle).

Foy Vance is back with a new summer single, ‘Be
With Me’, out now, followed by his long awaited
debut album - ‘Hope’ – released in
Ireland on September 7th.
‘Be With Me’ is an insistent, sinewy groover
and marks a real departure from his previous releases.
Echoes of Prince jamming with Tom Waits in a sweaty
New Orleans jazz club topped off with Foy’s unmistakable
voice; and a tantalizing taster for the treasures on
the album.
Entitled ‘Hope’ – a theme that defines
Foy’s life and which is present throughout the
album, whether in a positive or a negative way. The
recording process of the album has been very organic
and spontaneous, capturing the emotion and rawness
of Foy’s live performances.
All the songs were written, performed, recorded, produced
and mixed by Foy himself. Tchad Blake who is best known
for his work with Pearl Jam, Tom Waits and Elvis Costello
has also contributed to the mixing of some tracks.

We are proud to announce the release of
Sinéad
O'Connor's new double album 'Theology' on 22nd
June in Ireland, 25th June in UK.
Twenty years after the release of her culturally-transformative
debut solo album, "The Lion and The Cobra," the
uncompromising musical artist Sinead O'Connor is releasing
'Theology', a new double-CD collection of vital emotionally-charged
songs.
'Theology' premieres eight new songs written, or cowritten,
by Sinead O'Connor: "Something Beautiful," "Out
of the Depths," "33," "Dark I Am
Yet Lovely," "If You Had A Vineyard," "The
Glory of Jah," "Watcher of Men," and "Whomsoever
Dwells" as well as three thematically-appropriate
covers: Curtis Mayfield's soul-searching "We People
Who Are Darker Than Blue," a ferocious interpretation
of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's "I Don't Know
How To Love" (from "Jesus Christ Superstar"),
and the traditional reggae spiritual "Rivers of
Babylon" with new lyrics written by Sinead.
" Theology is an attempt to create a place
of peace in a time of war," said Sinead. "It
is my own personal response to what has taken and is
affecting everyone around the world since and including
September 11, 2001. I want to be very clear - there
is no message. No preaching. Nothing deep and meaningful
the artist wants to say, nothing trouble making. I
simply wanted to make a beautiful thing, out of something
beautiful, which inspires me."
