RODRIGO Y GABRIELA CELEBRATE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF SELF-TITLED DEBUT WITH DELUXE NEW VINYL RELEASE

 Rodrigo y Gabriela will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark 2006 self-titled debut album with a very special new deluxe vinyl release. The limited 2xLP edition includes a new vinyl master of the original album plus the GRAMMY® Award-winning duo’s 2002 debut recording, Re-Foc, on vinyl for the first time ever. Pressed on jade and citrus-colored eco-wax vinyl and also including an exclusive bonus poster, Rodrigo y Gabriela + Re-Foc (20th Anniversary Edition) arrives via Rubyworks Records on Friday, May 1.

 “The date was 30th of March 2001,” say Rodrigo y Gabriela. “The city was Barcelona, the place was the Palau de la Música Catalana, the genius behind the guitar was Vicente Amigo. Earlier that day, we busked like crazy in Las Ramblas and El Portal de l’Àngel to make enough money to buy tickets. Before Vicente’s gig, we went busking outside the Palau, hoping that Vicente would listen to us. Back then, he didn’t know we even existed! After his gig, we were both floating in inspiration and aspiration for music, so we dedicated this piece out of gratitude for such wonderful music and playing. Vicente is a genius of music and a true master of flamenco guitar. He is a wonderful person and now a friend of ours – in 2015 we even had the honor of guesting him at two of our shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London.”
